Improvements

This week I have been checking my blogger in order to make sure that it is up to date with all my coursework so that I have not left out any pieces of work which need to be uploaded. I have also been working on my evaluation to make sure that it is detailed enough.

Working on evaluation question 2

After completing question one I am working on question two where I will evaluate how effective the combination of my music video and the print products which the group and I have produced are.  I will aim to get this finished by the end of the week so that I can work on question number three next week. For question number two I will also produce a prezi where I will be able to present my work and upload it onto blogger.

Working on evaluation question 1

This week I’ve been working on my evaluation question number one where I will evaluate my music video and relate it back to my case studies. After completing this question I will create a prezi where I will be able to present my evaluation as a presentation and upload it onto blogger.

Screening of the music video

After we produced our video we presented it in front of our media class where we gained both positive and negative feedback as to what worked well and what didn't work so well. Some of the positive feedback we received was that we used good effects of overlapping where the actor is singing and behind him is the view from the bridge where we can see the London eye and Big Ben.  They also liked the choice of location as well the lighting we got in our music video due to sunset which allowed us to get better camera angle shots.

Some of the negative feedback we received was that the lip sync of our actor was out in parts of the song. This was hard for us to edit as we tried to slow the footage down in order to match the lip sync but in some parts of the song it didn’t work well. Another negative feedback we received was that some of our scenes looked repetitive which didn’t work well with the song such as the chorus where the couple are arguing. As a result we improved this scene by speeding up the footage so that it builds tension and looks as though the couple are arguing rather than talking. Lastly, our media class were not too keen on the hand drift at the end of the video as they thought it looked unrealistic and fake.  As a result we took this feedback and improved parts of our music video in order to make it better and more realistic so that it looks professional and successful.

The video below is the feedback our media class gave for our music video:

Print Product: Back Cover of the Album (Draft two)

After creating the first draft of the back album cover we experimented with the background colour of the cover and added an image in order to make the album cover look professional and realistic. We also want to make sure that the cover looks attractive so that it attracts the audience to buy the album. As a result we created the following cover by taking ideas from the case studies we analysed.
